"Where to Retire?" Would you believe Cedar City, Utah, is the place?
After spending a great Christmas holiday season with family, I glanced over some of the headlines in the newspapers that I hadn't had time to read. Saturday's Daily News headline, "Where to Retire," caught my attention. Under the headine were the words, "National publication names Cedar City as a top retirement town." This news came from the "Where to Retire" magazine's January/February issue.
This is not the first time Cedar City has been named as a top retirement town. The article states, "Mary Lue Abbot, the editor of Where to Retire, said Cedar City's location between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas as well as its cultural qualities are important to retirees."
Mary Lue said that "Cedar City lures retirees with dramatic landscapes of red rock canyons and juniper-studded foothills." She goes on to say, "The town is an ideal spot for active retirees and outdoor lovers."
Having moved here myself approximately 28 years ago, I have to agree that this is the place. Why not live where there is so much to do and so many things to see? Why not live where many people come to play?
