My real estate team and I chose the Garden House for our sales meeting this week. It was warm and cozy and all decorated for Christmas. I remember when I first started selling real estate, that home was for sale many years ago. Now it's a beautiful restaurant with delicious food.
As my assistants and I discussed our clients and sales in progress, I mentioned that it should be slow the week after Christmas. They disagreed and commented that homes are selling and that it is still very busy in spite of the holiday season and cold weather. They did not see any signs of a slow-down at all. Offers are coming in and transactions are closing. We're moving into the new year with strong home sales.
Homes in the lower price ranges are selling quickly and sometimes get multiple offers and sell above the listing price. Why are so many buyers buying homes now? I believe the median sales price in Iron County is a huge part of the reason. It is less than $100,000.
A few years back, you couldn't even find a house for sale under $100,000. Buyers who couldn't qualify to buy then, are qualifying now because of the affordable sales prices. Buyers love the attractive bargains, low interest rates, and affordable monthly payments. The best part is being able to qualify for reasonable loans with nothing down or low-down payments. Buyers can now afford to buy a home for themselves rather than for their landlord.
